We didn't invent the wheel… We just make sure it fits! |
|
I started Wheelworks, Inc. in 1999 to market the Tire MountMate™. The tool was like giving birth, except it took nearly 3 years. I started with a sketch on a scrap piece of paper (which I still have) back in 1995. After building several wooden models and testing them until they failed, I built a billet prototype, which I used for testing until it also showed some shortcomings. A cast product fit the bill and a short time later, the tool was in production. It is built in the US out of a very strong alloy comparable to early custom wheels. I didn't want any problems, so the tool is over-engineered a bit, but I haven't ever had a failure. Next, I turned a passion for teaching into a Tire and Wheel consulting and training business. I have had the privilege to be with many of the visionaries who started the performance aftermarket business. As a SEMA member, I work closely with them on various projects, most notably the Custom Wheel and Tire Specialist exam - the first of it's kind. We have a severe shortage of professional automotive technicians in the US, so I provide training classes and videos to help the up and coming get a head start. In addition to the Wheels video training, there is a video for Tires that anyone, including a consumer, school or other organization would benefit from by showing to its members. We have now introduced a new Tire Pressure Monitoring System to the US that will provide the same level of security as the factory installed systems, except that it can be installed into most any other vehicle. For more information, click on Orange Electronic TPMS above. Over the horizon, we have a Flamed Products program in the works. Inspired by my son, who is the biggest racing fan you have ever have seen, I will introduce some unique products that any one can afford and enjoy. Keep checking back to find out when we will launch the product line. "If you have a dream, don't let anyone tell you that it won't work. It may not, but you will not regret never trying in the first place. Ask for the Lord's guidance and Will in your life, then stop and wait for an answer. Don't try to do anything on your own to help God, you will just mess things up. It has taken me forty years to figure that out - don't wait that long!" - God Bless, Scott |
